What is new and so special?
Induction heating is not a new technology. Neither is electric resistance heating.
To explain it as simple as possible how HARDGRID works, you could say it is the beautiful combination of an old stove with electric resistance heating and a modern stove with induction heating.
A sheet metal piece is connected to the equipment and one part electric current combined with one part eddie current, both generated by the induction equipment, heats the sheet metal part evenly in a very short time. The technology also enables partial heating by manipulation of the magnetic flux, which allows heating in zones, lines or patterns if it is positive for the intended application.
HARDGRID has developed a patented induction technology for companies that want fast heating of sheet metal in their processes. After heating, the details can be partially press-hardened and with very good material properties. Instead of using today's heating technology with ovens before the press, companies can reduce energy consumption in manufacturing, reduce waste and bring out new material properties in their details.
“ We are honored to be able to collaborate with companies such as AT&P, Frauental Gnotec, and RISE as well as having a dialogue with Volvo Cars in Olofström, all global leaders in vehicle innovation, in a project that highlights the potential of TC TECH's and HARDGRID's technology. ”
