Experts in induction technology
HARDGRID is a specialist company within induction technology. It is a subsidiary of Avalon Innovation and has it’s origin in TC TECH's technology.
TC TECH’s technology, based on many years of research, generates an instant and uniform heat over a well-defined surface and then, through application of equally uniform pressure, advanced micro and nanostructures can be created in materials in any thermoplastic.
TC TECH's team has continuously been researching the possibility of using its technology to heat metal for press hardening using induction. The results have been very promising and the company HARDGRID was established 2019.
Project Thermlight 2
Companies within the project are TC TECH, AP&T, RISE and Frauenthal Gnotec. Companies with which the project continuously dialogues are amongst others Volvo Cars and Arcelor Mittal.
The ability to use induction heating using the patented technology from HARDGRID and TC TECH can drastically reduce energy consumption, reduce space requirements and investment costs for heated forming processes.
It could be a disruptive technology development that changes the conditions within the industry and enables more companies to gain access to heated forming processes, thereby making it cheaper to manufacture lightweight, high-strength products.
